SUMMARY:A computational perspective on disease and treatment dynamics in hematopoiesis
DESCRIPTION:Host: Kristin Reiche\nSpeaker: Prof. Glauche\, Deputy Institute Director of the IMB (Dresden) \nQuantification and modeling of clonal dynamics in hematopoiesis provide mechanistic insights into how blood development is organized and potentially disturbed in disease situations. There is a range of quantitative methods to generate and analyze clonal data in experimental and clinical settings\, and to better understand treatment dynamics and to optimize therapeutic strategies. I will discuss several such approaches\, focusing on clonal barcoding and clone size quantification in gene therapy trials. Additionally\, I will highlight the potential of mathematical models for the treatment of leukemia and for CAR-T cell therapies\, with a particular focus on tumor-immune interactions.
